Friday Night: Live jazz with Zach Gillespie

Fresh off his quartet’s performance last week alongside the Mike Vax Sextet as part of Jazz in Arizona’s “Catch a Rising Star” concert series, Zach is back at Next Coffee Co. for another night of smooth live jazz.
A member of the Young Sounds of Arizona and a recent graduate of Ironwood High School, Zach Gillespie is an up-and-comer on the Arizona jazz scene. Skilled in both the trumpet and piano, Zach has been honored by both the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston and the Brubeck Institute in Stockton, Calif., with past invitations to attend their elite summer jazz performance programs.
Zach has been a performer with the 2009 Jazz Band of America, the 2009 Next Generation Jazz Orchestra, the 2008 Gibson/Baldwin GRAMMY Jazz Ensemble, and the Young Sounds of Arizona All-State Jazz Band. He was also invited to play at the annual conference of the International Association for Jazz Education, the Midwest Clinic International Band and Orchestra Conference, and the Western International Band Conference.
Zach has performed with renowned jazz artists Wayne Bergeron, Rebeca Mauleón, Bobby Shew, Wycliffe Gordon, Dan and Chris Brubeck, Pete Christlieb, Christian Scott, and McCoy Tyner.
