 In AZ KARMA Provides Musical Entertainment Services for Weddings, Benefits, Festivals, and Private Parties Genre COVER music from 60′s to Present Members Mariah – Lead Vocals/ Co-owner Mariah born in Bern, Switzerland in 1972 from Spanish parents. Mariah started singing at a very young age. Took vocal classes at Montclair University. Started singing professionally as Lead vocals at 19 with a local wedding band name Prestige in 1990. Sang in three languages (English, Spanish and Portuguese). At 20 she decided to start her own band named Zanadu. Zanadu was one of the top 5 wedding/private party bands in NJ/NY within one year. The band traveled to various festivals, private parties, and weddings thru out the eastern states for 5 years when the band decided to end on a high. Mariah starting working for various recording studios in NYC and NJ doing promos for new songs. She has worked for Luther Vandross and 1990s pop star Taylor Dayne doing backups. She decide to relocate in 2005 to Arizona. In 2010 she has decided to start another professional wedding/private party band named Karma with the help of her band mates to focus on 60s – present day dance/pop music. Mariah’s favorite quote is, “See you on the dance floor” Julia – Bass Player, Background Vocals/Co-owner Born and raised all her life in the Midwest City of Milwaukee, she grew up in one of the most artistic, cultural and music-focused areas of that city. She learned classical guitar as a teenager, and bass guitar in the years following. Has played in various bands over the years, including forming an all-female group made up of some of the most talented female musicians in the state. Signing a contract with one of the largest Midwest Musician’s Agent, they played continuously in music festivals and various shows for quite some time together, and had progressed far enough along to open up for Joan Jett. Recently moving to Arizona, she now enjoys raising her two children there, and plays with the band KARMA. Some of her main musical influences over the years have been Heart, Joan Jett, Stevie Nicks, Sarah Mclachlan, Alanis Morissette, and Delores O’Riordan. Luca – Drums, Precussionist/ Co-owner Gianluca Peragine born in Torino Italy in 1974. He started to play drums at the age of 14. He took classes at Istituto Musicale Rivoli with the Maestro Andrea Penna. He played with Italian Rock, and Headcrasher, a well known progressive metal band in Italy. In 1996 open a recording studio and collaborated with various musicians in the area. Then, in 1998 he moved to Mexico and for a Latin/rock cover band, Leo, and play mostly in the Cancun region. In 2005 he moved to the USA to take time to dedicate to his family. In 2010 he join the Karma cover band of Arizona, and opened a drums and percussion shop called Drum Shop USA. His influences from the beginning were drummers like Bonam, Paice and Tommy Lee. He grew up listening Beatles, Rolling Stone and The Shadows (following in his father’s footsteps). Wendell – Lead Guitar Player, backing vocals Wendell was born right outside of Nashville, Tennessee. He began playing acoustic guitar at eight, and electric guitar at 13. He received his Bachelors in Music at Middle State University. Wendell has toured and worked with various country, rock, rhythm and blues, and variety bands. In 2007 he toured the world playing music on cruise ships. He now lives in Phoenix, Arizona and plays with the band Karma.
