Thursday Jazz Jam 7pm

Join us for some some Jazz and maybe a glass wine…Generation Gap will host an evening of Jazz music! Jazz Jam and open mic every Thursday!

GENERATION GAP

GENERATION GAP consists of two musicians, Elliott Fox on woodwinds and John Mueller on keyboards.  In addition, they use an electronic program to produce the sound of a bass and drums.  The two got together briefly in April of 2010 before taking the summer off to travel.  When they returned to Phoenix in the fall of 2010, they formed the group, Generation Gap and began to play around the Valley.   The reason for the odd name: Elliott is 45 years younger than John…yet, the two are in perfect harmony once they begin playing.  They enjoy playing the jazz standards of the 40′s, 50′s and 60′s.

ELLIOTT FOX  Elliott is an up and coming saxophonist in the Valley.  He has been playing since he was eight years old when he was inspired by his grandmother.  During high school he took private lessons with Tony Vaca before attending Northern Arizona University where he studied with Dr. Jonathan Bergeron and Joel Dibartolo.  He is currently back in the Phoenix area, teaching private lessons and occasionally playing around the valley.

When he’s not practicing his horn, Elliott enjoys the outdoors and is a certified rock climbing instructor.  He works at a summer camp for boy scouts, sharing his love for music and his drive to achieve greater heights.

JOHN MUELLER  John grew up in the San Francisco Bay area where he was exposed to some of the finest jazz musicians of the day.  He began playing piano in the military but took time out to pursue a government career and raise his son.  After not playing for more than thirty years, he decided to take it up again and with the help and encouragement of several local musicians he is now playing as a member of Generation Gap.

John retired from government service several years ago; now he spends his spare time writing novels, travel articles and visiting Brasil.
