ColdSoup is anything but cold.  In fact, when ColdSoup heats up, you 
can expect the unexpected. They never serve from off the shelf, and 
it’s always family-style.  It’s a little blues with mandolin…a 
little country with conga…a little jazz with a dash of bluegrass. 
It’s music that makes you say, “Hey, I love that song, but I haven’t 
heard it in a while…and never quite like that!”.

In August 2005, five good friends decided to start making music 
together. Their shared appreciation of good music, and a willingness 
to bend as they blend together, has resulted in a unique acoustic 
sound, full of rich harmonies, with an unexpected spin on classics 
from The Beatles, Shawn Colvin, Loggins and Messina,  Norah Jones,  
James Taylor, The Moody Blues, Jackson Browne, B.B. King, Steely Dan, 
and others from the 60’s, 70’s 80’s and today.

I also perform solo, both in public venues and for private engagements, playing my own music as well as instrumental interpretations of rock, pop and jazz standards.

Im currently playing in the Sharett Miller Duo with the always fabulous Sharett Miller, at Cross of Christ Church in Anthem AZ, as worship team guitarist, and in various fill-in gigs t/o the Valley.

I’ve done recording and live music clinics at the Conservatory for Recording Arts in Gilbert, worked in the house bands at the Jackrabbit Lounge and the Skye Lounge, fronted a jazz/pop trio, and been called upon for more than a few sub gigs for bands t/o the area. Bands I’ve worked with in the past include Crayon Sky, the Vibe, Floor 13, 101, the Kip Fox band, the Tim Sealy Band, Time Bomb, and more.

I have been teaching private guitar lessons for 15 years and am lucky to have some great students and ex-students, whom I count as some of my closest friends and whom I learn something new from every day.

I am familiar with all genres, incl rock, jazz, funk, r&b, country, rockabilly, surf, punk. Play and read for bass as well. The Arizona Novel Writers Workshop offers friendship and inspiration to those immersed in the writing life and dedicated to furthering their writing careers. We are committed to submitting our chapters for critique on a regular basis and assisting each other to polish our novels and short story collections for publication. Fellow members are able to follow and understand the writer’s novel as it progresses and provide thoughtful and in-depth critiques.

Monthly meetings are held for face-to-face discussion and critiques of the works in progress, publishing news,  marketing opportunities, and that thing no writer can live without – caffeinated beverages!
