Bitpanda Recap #2: Our latest news and highlights

Hello, Hallo and Salut! My name is Dec, Community Manager here at Bitpanda and welcome to the second installment of the Bitpanda Recap, where we go over the most interesting and exciting news from the Bitpanda ecosystem in the past few weeks. So without much further ado, let’s dive right into it. iOS users will be very happy to know that we now have an app on the app store. The android app already has 100,000 downloads and an average rating of 4.5 stars amongst 1600 reviews. So you can go ahead and download it from the app store right now and tell us what your experience is in the comments below. Now onto Bitpanda Pay. On October 16th, we announced Bitpanda Pay, our innovative new product that allows any Bitpanda user to pay to any IBAN within the European Union directly from their Bitpanda account. If you haven’t had a chance to try it yet, then go to to get started. Moving swiftly on to BEST fee reduction on the 30th of October BEST began with it’s first use case you can now pay all your trading fees with BEST and when you do, you’ll receive a massive 25% discount. You guys in the community have already started taking advantage of this feature, with up to 32% of fees being paid with BEST on high frequency days in November. Making good on our promise to expand into new asset classes and continue to offer our users the widest range of digital assets available, we have added platinum and palladium to our Bitpanda Metals product. So if you want to start making your portfolio shine, go to to get started. I want to talk a little bit about PANTOS our research project because I know a lot of you in the community have your questions. We’re very happy to say that a new researcher has joined the team, a new white paper and an updated roadmap will be published by the end of November. The roadmap is going to give a really good outlook into what to expect from the research project in the future, and I’m really looking forward to discussing it with you in our Telegram groups later. I’m quickly going to go over the coins and tokens we’ve integrated to the Bitpanda platform in the past couple of months. After a busy summer of product launches, we were able to add the full integration of numerous cryptocurrencies including Lisk, Tron and Cosmos. You can start trading, depositing, sending and receiving all those cryptocurrencies on Bitpanda right now. Moving on from the technical stuff, we are very pleased to announce that we’ve hired a whole communications team including PR managers and a brand strategist to help shape the future of Bitpanda. We’ll be coming at you with more information on that in the Bitpanda magazine soon. In other marketing news, I have something very very exciting that I want to share with you. We have started working with Charlie Shrem on his podcast “Untold Stories”. So we reached out to prominent Bitcoin advocate and Bitcoin Foundation founder, Charlie Shrem, to organise a partnership. And I’m really happy to announce that we’re now sponsoring his podcast “Untold Stories” and you can download that in the iTunes store right now. From the community side, on the 14th of November, we held the most successful ask-me-anything session ever. Where Paul answered about 100 questions from the community and gave some hints as to what to expect in the upcoming year. If you’d like to get involved in more Bitpanda community activities then please feel free to subscribe to our subreddit or join the conversation in one of our telegram groups. On the subject of community, I’m going to give you a quick update on our social media channels. In case you’re wondering how healthy they are, this is how much they’ve grown in the past month. So where in the world has Bitpanda been? Well, we’ve been everywhere. Starting with the Paris Blockchain Summit. We were at the Paris Blockchain Summit in 2019, where our very own Benedikt Angerer from Business Development was on the main stage talking about breaking down the barriers to personal finance. Moving on from that, we won the Ernst and Young award for the entrepreneur of the year. Ernst and Young is one of the big four accounting firms in the world, and Bitpanda’s founders Paul Klanschek and Eric Demuth were extremely honoured to receive the award on behalf of the whole team at the Viennese Hofburg castle. Staying on the Viennese topic, I would like to talk a little bit about Fintech Week Vienna where Bitpanda hosted its first event, opening with a talk about how we built a FinTech that is changing the game, followed by a panel discussion with industry experts and a journalist from Forbes International. On top of that, we won the Fintech Vienna award to add to our growing shelf of awards. Web Summit. We weren’t stuck at home the whole time. Bitpanda has been on tour throughout the whole Autumn starting with a famous Web Summit in Lisbon where Eric got up on stage and delivered another great keynote speech. Eric has been busy. Not only was he in Web Summit but he was invited to CNBC Arabia where he discussed Bitpanda’s vision live on television to an audience of 15 million people. Continuing the theme of our Asia tour, we also spent time on the Hong Kong FinTech Week and FinTech Week Singapore. And that just about wraps up this edition of Bitpanda Recap. Let us know in the comments below if you’ve had a chance to meet up at any of the events this year, or if you’ll try to catch us at any of our events next year. Don’t forget to follow us on all our social channels and you’ll see me in the next edition of the Bitpanda Recap. Bye bye!
