BSV: Pumped by the Wrong Keys

Welcome, welcome to One Minute Crypto! I’m your host, Chronos, and today we have
to talk about the meteoric rise in the price of Bitcoin SV. Over the past couple days it has more than
doubled, and with price movements like that, there’s often a reason. This time is no exception. The move comes after the controversial figure
Craig Wright reports to have had private keys delivered as he defends himself against a
lawsuit from the Kleiman estate. But it’s easy to misunderstand here, because
in bitcoin, “private keys” usually means you have control over the coins. But in this case, if you look closely, these
“private keys” are only to unlock an encrypted file that contains a list of bitcoin public
keys. In other words, these aren’t private keys
to bitcoin addresses, they’re private keys to decrypt a file. In this case, that subtle distinction means
the difference between actually owning the bitcoins, and just looking at them. It remains to be seen if those coins are really
owned by Craig, but I wouldn’t count on it. Post your thoughts below. I’m Chronos. Thanks for watching!
